On 15 January 2015, ANSA published a feature dedicated to Italian Steel Art and its innovative approach to automotive upcycling. The article explores how Piero Protti and his team transform original components from iconic Italian vehicles into handcrafted furniture, lighting and interior design pieces.
The feature presents Italian Steel Art’s distinctive creative process, in which recognisable automotive elements are given an entirely new purpose. Vespa body parts become lamps and stools, while components from the Fiat 500 and Ferrari F40 are reimagined as sofas, cabinets and bookcases.
Founded from an idea by Piero Protti and supported by professionals with decades of experience in automotive bodywork, Italian Steel Art brings together Italian craftsmanship, automotive heritage and contemporary design.
The ANSA coverage recognised the originality of a project built around upcycling: extending the life of existing objects by transforming them into functional pieces with a new creative and aesthetic value.
